Aloan receives the Newcomer Award from the SUISA Foundation for Music
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Gurten Festival in Berne, the SUISA Foundation for Music presented its «Newcomer Award», a prize amounting to Frs. 5,000, to Aloan, an electro group from Geneva. The quality of the performance of this group from French-speaking Switzerland is equal to that of Pegasus, Signorino TJ and Seven, all well-known groups who have received this award in the course of the last few years. >>>

SUISA’s 2004 results in slight decline
At the General Assembly held in Lugano on 25 June 2005, SUISA released its results for the 2004 financial year. Against a backdrop of continuously sinking sound carrier sales, profit for the year attained CHF 132.7 million, a decline of 3% compared with the prior year. The General Assembly approved the introduction of a one-time «entry fee» for new principals. >>>

Swiss music scene set to make strong showing at MIDEM 2004, despite economic downturn
Sound carrier sales fell again in Switzerland in 2003. However, with a 9.2% share of the charts, Swiss music achieved a record performance last year. Switzerland also had a record showing in terms of participants at the MIDEM 2004 in Cannes (25.01 to 29.01.04). For the first time, OSEC supported the common Swiss stand at the world’s largest music fair. Hand in hand with Switzerland’s showing at the fair, the SWISS JAZZ CLUB will present a world-class programme in its fifth edition at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes. >>>
